2010 Reading List (…for now) by teewee
If there is one thing I’d like to do more (in light of the new year with everybody making resolutions); it would be to spend less time on the computer and more time reading (which is rather ironic since I’ve spent all night on the computer doing nothing productive and now it is already 10:30p). Here are a few books that are currently on my reading list (in no order):
1. Blink – Malcolm Gladwell
2. Outliers – Malcolm Gladwell
3. Worship Matters – Bob Kauflin
4. Crazy Love – Francis Chan
5. GMAT Review 12th Edition =P – author: Graduate Management Admission Council?
I think the purpose of me posting this is to make some sort of declaration, so I can look back to see if I’ve accomplished my goal later on in the year. Maybe if/when I finish each book, I’ll post a short review. While all of these books (save for the no.5) are definitely good and interesting reads (thus have made it on my list), I’m most excited to go through Worship Matters. I though YFA once posted a photo of steve jobs-look-alike from a worship conference he attended few years back; that was Bob Kauflin. I think YFA may have bought this book when we visited Mars Hill Church in Seattle, but again don’t remember exactly. This book was recommended to me by a friend last weekend and I was able to order it on amazon shipped to my door in just two days! The book is split into several parts, covering different aspects of worship: the leader, the task, healthy tensions, and right relationships. Doing a quick search online, there’s a blog by Bob Kauflin: Worship Matters

I’ve been meaning to do a post on this, but never had the time. Finally had the chance to grab some photos of the guitar. It plays really nice. Nicely balanced sound, not too warm and bassy, but not too tinny. Perhaps I’ll write a more detailed review down the road, for now, you’ll have to settle with just a collage !
(I realized I’ve filed this under ‘toys’, but I’d like to think of this guitar as more than a toy =P)
edit: as yfa pointed out, I did not include a full body shot of the guitar in the collage, this is for the simple reason that, I don’t know where my guitar stand is and so couldn’t prop the guitar up onto anything.
Geektool by teewee
Saw this whilst browsing lifehacker.com and decided to try the design. Geektool is a pretty simple program, but rather inefficient because you cannot group items together and move them as a group. Individual items must be moved and aligned independently. For instance, code for hour and minutes are separate, and ram free and ram used are also separate and you have to manually align them. Props to YFA for pointing out that I could use the X&Y coordinates built into the program for easier alignment. Although its a neat setup, I’m not sure how often I actually see my desktop as there are typically tons of windows stacked on it.

Scenario: Dustbowl: Round 2, Red (Defense)
Sentry Placements:
[tpx]sadd3j: Sentry inside the shack, gun pointing down the stairs to cover ground entrance into the shack
[tpx]JasonC: Sentry inside the shack, gun pointing towards the first capture point
[tpx]teewee: Sentry inside the shack, underneath the first capture point, gun pointing opposite to sadd3j to cover ground entrance
Needless to say, the screenshot shows that the sentry placements were the winning combo.
