Surface by YFA
Not to advertise for the company I’ll soon be working for… but this is indeed pretty cool stuff. If the costs can be lowered significantly it may just make it big.
Microsoft Surface – multi-touch, multi-user interface, object recognition and gestural interaction
(Watch the middle “The Power” video if you’re only going to watch one, I think that’s the coolest)
and apparently its not all big dreams… limited 2007 rollouts in T-Mobile stores, Starwood hotels, and Harrah’s in Vegas. Runs on a 1G stock Vista box =p.
The coolest part about all this is…. I actually saw Bill Gates demo this at the 30th Anniversary Company Meeting when I was interning there 😐 that was….. 1.5 years ago….. I think he did some cool stuff like OCRing business card and populating the info onto a PDA wirelessly (bluetooth or sth? not sure). Showed some stuff with photos too. Never thought it would actually be released as a MS product though =p.

So today’s Harvey’s Free burger day.
There are three Harvey’s in Kingston.

Birdy, Birdy Part 2 by YFA
Quiet board, so I thought I’ll make an update to my balcony birdies… which are like my “wildlife pets” now =p.
So the birdies did come back and nest in my mommy’s flower pot/tray. They’re pretty cute and the mom and dad takes turn incubating the eggs – the last photo I shot was actually a rare occasion when both parents are there. Since they are incubating the eggs and more reluctant to move, I can go up close and pwn them with my camera…
Actually I got too close one time and scared the mom (or maybe dad, I don’t know) away, and saw they actually have 2 eggs in their nest… and the mommy bird was across the street watching me the entire time 😛
Now waiting for some money shots of when the eggs hatch and both parents have to co-operate to feed the young. I forgot how long it took last year for the eggs to hatch (think it was around 2 weeks) but once the young learn how to fly the entire family leaves pretty quickly.
